Bob Ward created the Railing Stains in the mid 90s as a hard driving Rolling Stones covers band.
Within two years the band was performing to crowds of over 50,000 and toured with some of the well known 60's and early seventies bands....
This was followed by a production deal with Sony (Australia) for the Rugby World cup and the legendary producer Charlie Skarbeck (Credits include: Shirley Bassey, Paul Young, Hall and Oates,)
This coincided with a name change to the Widkatz and saw Jesse Wood (son of Rolling Stones Ronnie) join the band for a three year period.
The band played at many high profile venues including the Famous Eel Pie club (The birth place of many of the greatest Rock n Roll bands), The Brighton Centre. But perhaps the greatest accolade was being chosen to headline the first Rolling Stones convention at the Brixton Academy by the Stones themselves! They also played to an audience of 10,000 in a Tribute to Brian Jones at Cotchford Farm, the estate where he died, to mark the 30th anniversary of his death, a chapter in The Adam Claydon of Brian Jones's life is dedicated to this.
They have toured all over Europe with highlight being a mini German tour as headliners on the Rhine Army show.
In 2003 Jesse left the band and they returned to their original name The Railing Stains.
This coincided with several gigs being played with the late great Art Wood (Brother of Ronnie) melding Stones music with great Rhythm and Blues.
As part of the Stones 40 licks tour The Stains were contacted by Punk films and shortlisted to open for the Stones all over the world, another indication of highly the band is thought of by the Stones themseleves. The band continued to play gigs and were soon playing alongside the likes of The Downliners Sect and Mott The Hoople.
The band continues to play all over the UK and Europe and at A list parties, Corporate Events, Private bashes and armed forces in England and overseas.
